Happy Wednesday, Savvy Readers!
Got those post-Valentine’s Day blues? I have just the thing. Having been a long-time fan and enthusiast of feminist literature, I’ve gathered some of my favourite feminist book quotes for your #WednesdayWisdom!
Happy Friday, Savvy Readers! I hope you’ve been staying warm wherever you are as it seems as though winter is back with a vengeance. Luckily, as bookworms, staying inside with a book is just as fun. Speaking of fun, there have been some great bookish news articles, links, and photos this week! So, cozy up and I’ll fill you in:
1. Celebrate Black History Month with Diverse Books and a New #50BookPledge Badge!
It’s Black History Month this month and we’re celebrating all month (year!) long by reading some amazing stories by fantastic authors. We’ve also introduced a new Black History Month badge for the 50 Book Pledge. You can earn it by reading one (or all!) of these unforgettable books: Steal Away Home by Karolyn Smardz Frost, Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, or The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Click on the titles to learn more about each book and here to learn more about the badge.
Hey Savvy Readers!
In honour of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and being that February is Black History Month, we’re bringing you a wide range of amazing books by some pretty amazing and diverse authors! Here at the Savvy Reader we always find it important to expand your horizons and encourage you to read something new, so we’ve created a list of books everyone should pick up when they’re in the market for a new read.
These novels will take you to uncomfortable places and shake boundaries. They say something that matters and they’re voices need to be heard. Diversity in all aspects of life is important, even in the world of books!
