This Week’s Featured Read

50BP_FeaturedReads_March2.png

This week’s Featured Read was Dragon Springs Road by Janie Chang. This magical novel deals with identity, otherness, race and struggle. It combines the real with the ethereal and is truly an enjoyable experience. Needless to say, we highly recommend it. And our fellow readers do, too!

“I was captivated from the first page.” – Lee S., Amazon

“Dragon Springs Road is beautifully written, and I loved loved loved being in Jialing’s head. The narration always felt honest and Jialing’s struggles and experiences as a ‘Eurasian’ were powerful and heartbreaking to read about. Gorgeously written, I can’t get over how much I loved it.” – Ameema, Goodreads.

Dragon Springs Road is a literary work of art that should be on the very top of any book lovers “must read” pile for 2017.” – Candice S.,  HCC First Look.

“Last night I finished one of the most enchanting books I’ve ever read.” – jkwalsh00, Instagram.

What We’re Reading This Month: May 2016

Good morning, Savvy Readers! Can you believe it’s already May? The weather has yet to convince me, but the number of books out this week alone (both adult and YA) is a good indicator that summer (and summer reading!) is on its way. May also means that we’re 1/3rd through our 50 Book Pledge! Sitting at just above 33% of our community goal means we’re right on track. (A reason to celebrate, isn’t it!?)

As always, we love to share what we’re reading with you each month. See below for new books from bestselling authors Kimberly McCreight, Joe Hill and Mhairi McFarlane, plus more! And, as always, tell us what you’re reading on Twitter @SavvyReader or in the comments below.

Happy Spring reading!

Karen is reading The Outliers by Kimberly McCreight

This month I’m reading The Outliers by Kimberly McCreight. McCreight is well-known for her suspenseful novels Reconstructing Amelia and Where They Found Her and I’m so delighted that her first novel for young adults is just as thrilling. The Outliers is full of twists and turns – guaranteed to keep you hooked until you reach the final page.
