The Summer of Canadian Reading

You might have noticed a bit of a trend on our site recently, Savvy Readers. Since Canada Day, we’ve been all about transforming our summers into a mega Canadian summer, and we’re about to tell you why.

HarperCollins Canada has officially deemed Summer 2019 THE SUMMER OF CANADIAN READING and we thought it would be fitting if we followed suit, eh? This summer, HarperCollins Canada will be highlighting national bestsellers and widely celebrated titles from their brightest readers and biggest critics.

Throughout July and August, one Canadian book will be featured each week to celebrate its status in Canada. Want to stay in the loop? Then you’ll want to visit them over at summerofcanadianreading.ca every Monday to see which books they have picked! Additionally, you’ll want to follow HarperCollins Canada on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, because word has it that there may or may not also be weekly contests and giveaways. Just sayin’. And, on top of that, you know what else you can do? You can enter to win all 8 books! RIGHT?! Head over to summerofcanadianreading.ca to enter the giveaway now!

And, as if that’s not enough, remember that we’ll be featuring Canadian content all summer long! We’ve already featured great Canadian books, great Canadian eats, and great Canadian beats, and there’s lots more where that came from!

I do feel like we’re forgetting something, though, but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is…

…OH YEAH! There are 8 books featured between July and August, so guess what? There’s a new 50 Book Pledge badge to go along with it!
