Top Story Tuesday: October 23rd

The Toronto International Festival of Authors kicked off last week and is already off to a great start! It’s a wonderful place to see your favourite authors and discover new and upcoming voices. The festival runs October 18-28, and there are events for every kind of reader!

This week, the Toronto Star asked some of the many debut writers appearing this year to reveal a secret about their book. Authors like Arif Anwar (The Storm),  and Rachel Giese (Boys) shared some secrets, which you can read here. (Who knew Arif was a Tolkien fan?!)

If you’re in Toronto, you can check out incredible authors such as Esi Edugyan and Arif Anwar, who will be appearing at the festival this year.

You can find out the festival’s full schedule here. Will you be attending any events this year? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter @SavvyReader!

Happy reading (and festival going!)
