Bel Canto by Ann Patchett – In Theatres Now!

I am so, so excited to see Ann Patchett‘s beautiful novel come to life on the big screen! Bel Canto is a story of love and opera, after a group of terrorists takes control of a private party at an embassy in South America. A famous opera singer and a Japanese CEO are part of the group that is abducted, and as days and weeks go on, the hostages must find a way to work together to escape, despite the language barrier. The movie features Julianne Moore and Ken Watanabe, and is sure to be a fast-paced ride. Watch the trailer here and find out more about the book here.

A Simple Favor by Darcey Bell – In Theatres Now!

A Simple Favor is a deliciously psychological thriller that tells the story of a mommy blogger whose life is turned upside down when her best friend suddenly disappears. How well do you really know your best friend? Queue the secrets, betrayals the ever-revolving question of who is duping whom. Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are PERFECT for these roles. Watch the trailer here and find our more about the book here.

If you’re a long time Savvy Reader, you’ll know how excited we are about the release of The Hate U Give. The book was one of our favourite releases of 2017 and it looks like the movie will be just as powerful and important as the book. The Hate U Give is the story of sixteen-year-old Starr Carter who, in the aftermath of her best friend being shot by a police officer, stands up for what is right and unites her community. Watch the trailer here for the new movie here and find our more about the book here.

The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn – (In theatres October 4, 2019)

If you haven’t read The Woman in the Window yet, by all means, stop whatever you’re doing and get to it!! It’s an astoundingly twisty, dark thriller that follows agoraphobic Anna Fox after she witnesses what she thinks is a murder from her bedroom window. The movie has officially been announced to release next year, with Amy Adams starring as Anna. Perfect casting if you ask us! 1. I’m looking forward to seeing The Woman in the Window as a movie! I hope that they can make it just as creepy. I’ve never read A Simple Favor. It’s on my TBR, but has mixed reviews on Goodreads so I’m hesitant about it…. what are your thoughts on the book?
