“AMAZING. I read it in one go. I was totally hooked.” – MARIAN KEYES

Her name was Rose. You watched her die. And her death has created a vacancy.

When Emily lets a stranger step out of an elevator in front of her, she never imagines that this split second will change her life. But after Emily watches a car plough into the young mother—killing her instantly—she finds herself unable to move on.

Emily, still struggling in the wake of a devastating, abusive relationship, thinks that she may have been the intended target of this fatal hit-and-run.

So she makes a decision she can never take back. Guilt-ridden Emily begins an investigation into the background of the woman who was killed, the woman who she eventually comes to know as Rose.

In looking into her life, Emily discover that Rose had a successful author husband, Cian, a young child named Jack, and a perfect home. Rose had everything Emily had ever dreamed of. And now Rose’s husband misses his wife, and their son needs a mother. Why can’t Emily fill that space?

But as Emily is about to discover, no one’s life is perfect … and not everything is as it seems.

This book will keep you on the EDGE OF YOUR SEAT, Savvy Readers! I got totally absorbed in this story full of addictive twists and turns. It kept me guessing all the way through. Claire Allan has written some incredibly well-developed characters with Emily and Rose.

The book stars off with a bang—the hit-and-run being in the first chapter—and doesn’t slow down until the very last page. You follow Emily in her constant state of panic and you’re taken on a serious ride. It’s impossible to know who to trust and who to believe inthis psychological thriller.
