Our Favourite Quotes from Reasons To Stay Alive

I talk in hyperbole a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Pretty much everything is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen, or the wildest thing I’ve ever read, or the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to anyone ever. It’s a curse, really…

But even my hyperbolic ways stop when I talk about Matt Haig‘s Reasons To Stay AliveI truly believe that this is a book that everyone absolutely needs to read, and I’m entirely serious about it.

As someone who has an intimate, personal connection with the book, I can speak to the fact that Reasons To Stay Alive has the power to change and save lives, and, in my role as a bookslinger, I take every opportunity I get to recommend this book. So, when I say that everyone needs to read this book, I actually mean it.

Part memoir, part self-help, part psychology, part commentary on the state of mental health treatment and stigma the world over, Reasons To Stay Alive is a moving, powerful little book that is chock-full of wise observations, beautiful passages, and brilliant quotations. Here are just a few of our absolute favourite quotations (and a very brief reason for loving them so much):
