1. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue optioned for TV

It was announced this week that the fabulously entertaining YA novel The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue has been optioned for Warner Bros. TV by Greg Berlanti. You may know Berlanti as the man behind shows like Arrow and Riverdale, so we can’t wait to see what he does for The Gentleman’s Guide! 2. Prize for Funniest Book Not Awarded Because None of the Novels Made the Judges Laugh

No, this is not a joke. The Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction will not award a winner for the first time in its 18 years running. Judges decided that the contenders were not funny enough this year, so the prize will be rolled over until next year. David Campbell, one of this year’s judges, said:

“Despite the submitted books producing many a wry smile amongst the panel during the judging process, we did not feel than any of the books we read this year incited the level of unanimous laughter we have come to expect. We look forward to awarding a larger rollover prize next year to a hilariously funny book.”

4. Dirty Jokes Found Hidden in Anne Frank’s Diary

Two new pages from Anne Frank’s diary have been shared with the public, and they contain dirty jokes. The pages were originally hidden under brown paper, but new imaging techniques have allowed researchers to uncover them. Click here to read more about the new discovery!

5. The Book of M Celebrates #ZeroShadowDay + #HCCFirstLook

This Wednesday was Zero Shadow Day, a special day celebrated in India when the sun’s latitude causes your shadow to be exactly underneath you. In honour of this unique day, a sneak peek of The Book of M was revealed. The Book of M follows a group of people that will stop at nothing to save their loved ones after a mysterious plague causes people’s shadows to disappear.
