HAPPY NEW YEAR, SAVVY READERS! We’re starting the year off right with the biggest book of 2018, The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn. You’re going to LOVE this one — trust us (and you can enter to win a copy here!).
Readers of Gillian Flynn and Tana French, meet your new favourite book. The Woman in the Window is a highly, HIGHLY anticipated debut and we are so excited that it’s *finally* (almost) here. Hitting stores January 2nd (tomorrow!), this book is being published in 36 languages around the world. AND it’s already in development as a major film from Fox. How about that?!
The Woman in the Window is a twist, powerful Hitchcockian thriller about an agoraphobic woman, Anna Fox, who lives alone in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spend her days drinking (maybe a little too much) wine, watching old movies, recalling happier times, and… spying on her neighbours.
When the Russells move into the house across the road from her—a father, a mother, and their teenage son—it seems that they’re the perfect family. But then Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t and her world begins to crumble.
It’s unclear what’s real, what’s imagined, who’s in danger and who’s in control. No one, and nothing, is quite what it seems. But it isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening after all, right?
Anna is a fascinating character and narrator in The Woman in the Window. We loved her love for classic movies—Rear Window, Gaslight, etc.—and just how she interacted with the world without ever stepping foot outside her house.
This book was simply unputdownable—seriously, I mean, it will keep you up ALL night turning pages (you can say “just one more chapter” but these are short chapters, so…). Nothing is overlooked in this incredibly clever psychological thriller. It’s perfectly plotted with everything happening at exactly the right time. But that being said, we were genuinely surprised by the ending!
Reader’s have said that this book has “restored [their] faith in psychological thrillers” (Goodreads). So, if you’re in for a fast-paced, twisty and dark read to set off your 2018 50 Book Pledge, we highly recommend picking up the biggest book of the year. We can’t wait to hear what you think!
Here’s to a year of reading incredible books!
