50 Book Pledge Featured Read: King’s Cage

Hey Book Lovers!

February 7th, 2017 was a great day wasn’t it? It was the day where waiting was finally over! Book lovers everywhere (myself included) found the sweet release of finally getting your hands on the book you’ve been waiting a year for! (The longest year ever I might add!)

King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard, the third installment in the Red Queen series, was released and put a stop to that cliff hanger from Glass Sword. It was killing me.

The book is great. Enough said, and I’ll try not to spoil anything!

It starts off right where we left off in Glass SwordMare is a prisoner, weighed down by Silent Stone, without her lightning and Maven looming over her head. Meanwhile, The Scarlett Guard is reeling without The Lightning Girl. They’re re-organizing, expanding and preparing for war, and the exiled-prince Cal, with his own stake on Mare’s heart, will do anything to get her back.

This book is a fantastic third installment! It builds upon the characters we love, and I adore how Aveyard offers fresh perspective on the standard “evil” characters. The action and the display of power in this book are so grand, I couldn’t help imagining how epic this book would look on the big screen…

The relationship between Mare and Maven in this book is so twisted! In a good way! It was so compelling to read these two interact, I loved their dialogue, but really loved the emphasis on their emotions. Superbly done!

Loved, loved, loved it!

If you haven’t already hit the closest bookstore, or had it preordered in preparation for February 7th, make sure you pick up a copy! You won’t regret it.

Happy reading!
