(Sorry).

The 50 Book Pledge

This is the year we meet our goal of 150,000 books! Good news is, we’ve already (collectively) read over 7000 books, and there’s a hefty 3800 of us working towards this goal. But grab your friends, Savvy Readers! Head to 50bookpledge.ca to sign up if you haven’t already and make sure to keep those shelves updated! We’re doing this.

This Week’s Featured Read

seventh-plauge_featured-reads_january

This week’s featured read was from the beloved Sigma Force author, James Rollins! In his latest book, The Seventh Plague, Rollins reveals an ancient threat that has been hidden in the bible. The story focuses on Professor Harold McCabe who was a member of an expedition that went missing for over two years. Out of the blue, he stumbles out of the Egyptian desert, but dies before he can tell his story. What is evident is that his captors had begun to mummify him… While he was still alive. We REALLY enjoyed getting to the end of this one (one of those can’t-put-it-down-till-you-find-out-what’s-really-going-on books). Here’s what our fellow readers thought:

“I hope to read more books by this author.” – Darren, Goodreads

“Rollins is guaranteed to provide bookish action/adventure junkies the escapism they crave.” – Lori, Goodreads

“James Rollins hit this one out of the park. All the favourite characters and elements from the best of the series are here (going back all the way to Sandstorm!) and involved in a world altering plot (as per usual)” – Mr Amazon, Amazon.ca

“What a book. Another victory for Mr Rollins in the sigma force series. Full of adventure and real world possibilities.” – Keith, Amazon.ca
