50 Book Pledge Weekly Round-Up: Nov 28-Dec 2

Hello Savvy Readers,

It’s December (ICYMI or something), and we sure are getting into the Christmas spirit around here. And by that we mean taking time to relax and read books (because that’s really what Christmas is all about, right?).

Right.

The 50 Book Pledge

We are at 88% of our goal. I repeat: we are at 88% of our goal! There’s 5490 of us Savvy Readers, reading all we can to make it to 100% in just four short weeks. No big.

But seriously, let’s pick up the pace! Also, all pledgers should definitely check this out as we move into 2017.

This Week’s Featured Read

Montana’s review this week made me add Wally Lamb’s I’ll Take You There to my TBR shelf right away. The book follows Felix, a film studies professor, as he revisits (and sometimes relives) his childhood through ghost movie technology. Two ghosts—female actresses from the silent film era—project scenes from Felix’s past onto the cinema’s big screen. Check out what we thought, and what our fellow reviewers thought too:

“I adore Wally Lamb and am in awe of his writing and knowledge about women.” – Robin, Goodreads

“I’ll Take You There, the new novel by Wally Lamb, is nothing like he’s written before. Yet, Lamb takes his readers on an amazing ride and I enjoyed every minute of this novel.” – Cynthia, Amazon.com

“Ah, Wally Lamb, a friend to readers everywhere, a joy, not a chore, to read.” – Rosemary, Goodreads

“I absolutely recommend this book to lovers of all genres, because it truly appeals to fans of all.” – Erin, Books, Music, and All Things Written
