Hello there Savvy Readers,

How is your November going? I hope you’re having a good one, with lots of great reads. Over here at the Savvy Reader HQ we’re prepping for Christmas, which mean it’s practically time to start blaring the Christmas tunes. Are you in the Christmas spirit?

Well, if the thought of Christmas is stressing you out, take a few minutes to relax with our weekly roundup. We had some really great stuff going on this week

The 50 Book Pledge

If I had to guess, I’d say we’ll be at 85% of our goal by the end of the weekend. Because who wants to do anything other than cozy up and read when it’s actually going to start feeling like November up here in the Great White North? We’ve read over 127,000 books. THAT’S A LOT OF BOOKS. But it’s still not 150K. So get to it!

Oh, and if you’ve already met your 2016 goal and are thinking about 2017… here are some great reasons to keep up with it.

This Week’s Featured Read

The Flame Bearer  by Bernard Cornwell was this week’s 50 Book Pledge Featured Read. Cornwell takes us way back to before England was a unified country and before it was the powerful empire that helped to colonize the rest of the world. In this medieval England, Uhtred of Bebbanburg finally has a chance to take back his home and take revenge on those that took it away… Read our full review here. Others have been loving this book and series:

“5 stars. No spoilers. Just read it!” – Ace, Goodreads.

“I finished this book satisfied, but wanting more.” – Jennifer C. Amazon.ca.

“Cornwell’s stories are always entertaining & this time he even shows how a single line can perhaps be the most poignant part of the story.” – Bill L. Goodreads.
