50 Book Pledge Round-Up: September 19-23

Hey hey, Savvy Readers! It’s FALL! We’ve been waiting 365 days for this (actually, though). We’re so happy it’s cooling down because all we want is hot drinks, warm blankets, and good books. I think I’ve been saying this for over three weeks though… Do you think I’ll ever actually get what I’m hoping for?

While I hope you’ve all been following along and keeping up with your reading this week, we’re here to help if you missed a thing or two.

The 50 Book Pledge

We’re slowly – but surely – climbing our way to our community goal of 150,000 books. Right now, we’re sitting at 71% with 107,848 books read! And now that summer’s over, we don’t have to make as many excuses for cozying up inside with a pile of books. Right? Right. So grab your TBR lists and make it happen!!

This Week’s Featured Read

Are you a mystery reader? I wasn’t, until I read this week’s Featured Read – Closed Casket. What a fun read! You can read my review of Sophie Hannah’s latest here, and see what some other mystery buffs thought below:

“Intriguing, convoluted mystery. Sophie Hannah is a talented mystery writer, and to her credit, goes for capturing the feel of Christie’s originals rather than mimic Christie’s style.” – Jaclyn, Goodreads

“Those looking for a classic mystery written in the style of Christie will enjoy this book. I did.” – Luanne, Goodreads

“Closed Casket is sanctioned by the Agatha Christie estate and her fans will welcome it while I await Poirot and Catchpool’s next adventure.” – Gail, Amazon.ca

“Equal parts charming and ingenious, dark and quirky and utterly engaging…I was thrilled to see Poirot in such very, very good hands.” – Gillian Flynn, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Gone Girl)
