1. David Walliams: Comedian, Children’s Book Author, and… Music Video Star?
To start us off, here’s some fun news: David Walliams, comedian, actor, Britain’s Got Talent judge, and children’s book author can now add music video star to his list of accomplishments. The Grandpa’s Great Escape and The World’s Worst Children author appeared in Bryan Adam‘s new music video for “Don’t Even Try” this week. Click here to watch the video!
2. Great Books to Look Forward to in the Second Half of 2016
Can you believe we’re already halfway through our 50 Book Pledge for this year? To say that I’m looking forward to the second half of the year would be a big understatement! This week, The Millions shared their most anticipated books for the rest of the year here, and I was so thrilled to see some of my most anticipated reads on the list (like this, this, this, and this)! Did any of the books on this list catch your attention?
3. NPR Says “Yes, All Men (And Everyone Else) Need to Read ‘Sex Object‘”
This article from NPR is new-to-me this week and I can’t agree with it more! In it, writer Annalisa Quinn reviews Jessica Valenti‘s memoir, Sex Object, and concludes that everyone should read it for its honesty. Click here to read Quinn’s review. Who doesn’t love a great infographic? @HarperCollinsCA shared this particularly fun one on Twitter this week. Who knew that T.S. Eliot liked to wear green face powder while he wrote? Did any of these facts surprise you, readers? Do you have any interesting writing habits of your own?
