If you’re like us and binge-read Allegiant yesterday, then you might be asking yourself…”Now what?!” Though we’ll never (ever) really let Divergent go, here are six books, each the first in a trilogy, that you should definitely pick up to help ease the loss of your favourite series.
A stunning tale of star-crossed romance, Delirium is set in a world where love is forbidden. Lena Haloway has always accepted the government’s decree that love is a disease that must be eradicated…but then she meets Alex. A high-stakes romance set in a dystopian world: It’s 1984 meets Romeo & Juliet.
Juliette has the power to kill with a single touch—and the power to save her shattered world. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal, but The Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon. But Juliette has plans of her own…
Ignite Me, the final novel in this epic dystopian series, is out early next year!
Legend follows two teenagers, June and Day, living in a world where civil war has torn apart the nation and left it divided. What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation constantly at war with its neighbors. This is an addictive series full of action and romance. Champion, the last book, is out next month!
Cinderella meets The Hunger Games with a touch of The Bachelor. America Singer is a spirited seventeen-year-old forced to compete for a chance at royalty, when all she wants is a life with her first true love…
We can safely say that we are obsessed with this series, plus we count the covers as some of the most gorgeous ones we’ve ever seen in YA. Stay tuned for The One, the final book in the trilogy, out next year.
In Enclave, New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves where life expectancy is no more than the early 20’s. When Deuce and Fade are exiled from the enclave, they must survive in daylight in the ruins of a city whose population has dwindled to a few dangerous gangs.
Aria and Perry, two teens from radically different societies in a future dystopia, hate being dependent on one another until they overcome their prejudices and fall in love, knowing they can’t stay together… You won’t have to wait too long to find out how Aria and Perry’s story end… Into the Still Blue, the conclusion to the series is out in January!
Noah and Mara are most certainly on our list of fave YA couples (Tris and Four are number one, of course). The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer trilogy has a little bit for everyone; it’s part mystery, romance, thriller and supernatural. Read this book and then read the sequel and then come talk to us because we have so many feelings about this series.
And remember, just because the series is over does NOT mean the Divergent fun will end… there’s still the movie coming out in March. Let the countdown begin!
