Faction Reading Week: Erudite

Erudite

Ah, Erudite. The smartest faction of them all. For those of you that haven’t yet experienced Divergent in all its’ glory (WHAT are you waiting for???), here’s a little bit about Erudite:

Erudite members are inquisitive, always learning, and believe that the strongest society is built on a foundation of knowledge. They are in constant pursuit of knowledge, their main colour is blue, and all members wear glasses. Their symbol is a blue eye.

Are you a straight-A student? Do you watch Jeopardy and regularly answer correctly, sometimes even before Trebek is finished speaking? Do you wear glasses?

Here are the books we think you should pick up:

Geek Girl by Holly Smale

Harriet Manners is super smart, but has trouble fitting in at school. When she’s spotted by a top model agent she has the chance to reinvent herself, but is it better to be chic, or a geek?

Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer

Three over-achieving best friends decide to step out of the honours lounge and take on their greatest challenges.

Don’t Turn Around by Michelle Gagnon

This explosive thriller is about a young computer hacker on the run. A hacker? Totally smart, totally Erudite. And she’s rebellious… But, I don’t want to spoil anything here about Erudite…

This Dark Endeavour by Kenneth Oppel

When his brother becomes deathly ill, the brilliant and inquisitive Victor Frankenstein sets out to find the legendary Elixir of Life. Victor knows he must not fail, but his success depends on how far he’s willing to push the boundaries of nature, science and love.

We’d love to hear what you would add to this list!
